Dr. Jeong-Min Hwang
 

Dr. Jeong-Min Hwang studied medicine at Seoul National University in Seoul, Korea. After residency at the Department of Ophthalmology of Seoul National University hospital, she had learned from Dr. Kushner, Dr. Wright, Dr. Murphree and Dr. Borchert from 1992 to 1994. She also had an observership with Dr. Guyton and Dr. Miller in 1998, and Dr. Kraft, Dr. Sharpe, and Dr. Traboulsi in 2002.  

Now Dr. Hwang is a Professor of the Department of Ophthalmology of Seoul National University College of Medicine, and appointed as a physician at Seoul National University Bundang Hospital. She has been a member of the National Academy of Medicine of Korea since 2011. She has been a councilor of Asia-Pacific Strabismus and Pediatric Ophthalmology Society and Asian Neuro-Ophthalmology Society since 2016. She served as the president of Korean Neuro-Ophthalmology Society (2015-2017), vice chairperson of Korean Ophthalmological Society (2015-2016), editorial director of Korean Neuro-Ophthalmology Society (2013-2015), Audit Director of Korean Strabismus and Pediatric Ophthalmological Society (2012-2014). 

As humanitarian works, she has been a consultant of the Heart-to-Heart Foundation's vision recovery support project since 2009. She worked in the Advisory Committee of Korea Blindness Prevention Foundation (2012-2015). Internationally, she did the medical service and education in Bangladesh Koramtola Hospital in 2012 and in Angkor Hospital for Children in Cambodia in 2014. She gave a lecture at Bangladesh National Eye Center in 2012.  

Dr. Hwang has continued research interest, and has published 367 SCI(E) articles, 137 non- SCI(E) articles, and chapters in 19 books. In the subject of exotropia, she has published 27 SCI(E) and 7 non-SCI(E) articles. She has 7 domestic patents and 1 domestic design.
